If your garage door is not opening, inside your garage above the door, does it look like this?

Don’t worry, it’s not broken because of something you did wrong. Like all mechanical parts they eventually wear out. Most residential torsion springs last between 10,000 and 15,000 cycles. One cycle is once up (open) and once down (closed).

If there are no springs directly above the door, have a look at the sides of the door. You may have extension springs. They will be stretched when the door is in the closed position, if you see kinks, uneven spacing, or have a broken extension spring, it is time to replace them.

At this point it is very important to know that springs can have tremendous potential energy stored and can cause severe bodily harm! Please do not try this repair yourself, instead contact us and we ensure you have the correct spring installed.
